Come out for an evening of performances – burlesque, live music, and spoken word poetry – with all proceeds going towards the Land Defence Alliance. The event takes place on Saturday, March 28th at the Paramount Theatre (24 Court Street South); doors open at 7pm, with the show taking place 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Intended audience is 19+, as there is some mature content.
Tickets are $20 each. All ticket sales will go to the Land Defence Alliance, opposing resource development and extraction in Northwestern Ontario – get your tickets today!
Limited tickets will be available for sale at the door but we encourage people to purchase through Eventbrite to help organizers track the number of expected guests. Please be advised that the venue has limited accessibility for wheelchair and mobility device users. The main entrance to the building is not equipped with accessible door openers, ramped or sloped entrance or accessible washrooms. To enter the theatre space, you must go up a set of stairs.
ABOUT LAND DEFENCE ALLIANCE
The Land Defence Alliance was formed in response to violations against First Nation sovereignty by the Ontario government in favour of mining companies. It is a signed mutual agreement by Asubpeeschoseewagong First Nation (Grassy Narrows First Nation), Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (Big Trout Lake First Nation), Wapekeka First Nation, Muskrat Dam First Nation, Neskantaga First Nation, and Onigaming First Nation. The coalition is organized adround demands for respect for First Nation sovereignty, decision making powers, and to end the free entry system.
