from CLEO Connect:

Black families are exposed to challenging circumstances when navigating the Youth Justice System. The court procedures, probation and conditions that the youth must abide by, are some of the things that they will have to deal with, most are not well informed of the different processes that will take place on this journey.

CLEO is hosting a webinar, “Supporting Black and racialized families: An approach to navigating the youth justice system” on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 10:30am -12 pm. This webinar is offered with simultaneous translation in French. Register today!

Speakers:

Adebisi Adeyemi, Case manager (mental health and counseling) at Durham Family and Cultural Center Roxanne Brown, Restore, Reclaim and Rebuild Program Coordinator at Durham Family and Cultural Center

This webinar will discuss:

  • the emotional and psychological trauma
  • the practices that will benefit healing and growth
  • the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to rebuild lives and create a brighter future

At end, community workers will gain insights to help families and youth navigate challenges, thrive, and move beyond the system with hope and possibility.
