From CLEO and Steps to Justice:
Child protection cases can be a long and confusing process. Families involved in a child protection case need to understand the process and their rights and responsibilities. CLEO has developed 3 flowcharts that explain what happens if the Children’s Aid Society:
- gets a report about a child
- decides a child is in need of protection
- takes the parent or guardian of a child to court
There is also information on how to get legal help, what to do if a child is Indigenous, and how to complain about a CAS worker.
