With funding from the Canadian Women’s Foundation, we’re hosting Thursday afternoon drop-ins for self-identified women, Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary folks!
We are hosting these free sessions as informal opportunities to connect with others, do some artmaking or crafting, and have coffee/tea and snacks. Sometimes we’ll have a guest speaker or watch a short film or video, sometimes we’ll just make things and chat. No registration is necessary. Materials and refreshments provided. Join us anytime between 1pm and 3pm, and stay for a bit or the full session. Bus tickets are available.
During some of our most recent Drop-Ins we:
- Learned about knitting as a feminist act of resistance while we knit or crocheted hats for women and children in our community
- Made art cards in celebration of Women’s History + Queer History Month
- Explored poetry as a feminist practice through generative writing, making personalized magnetic poetry kits, and sharing poems by inspiring feminist + queer poets
