ABOUT THIS WEBINAR

The ongoing crisis of housing affordability in Canada is disproportionately impacting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Join OCASI and the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights (CCHR) for a two-part workshop to learn more about the intersections of GBV and housing insecurity: part 1 will focus on GBV and housing research (August 11th) and part 2 will be on rental housing law (date TBD) This workshop will include information on: 

  • Understanding Canada’s housing crisis
  • Research findings on GBV and housing insecurity
  • Understanding rental housing law including:
    • Fairness when starting and ending a tenancy
    • Limits on rent increases
    • Privacy
    • Fair Process around evictions

The Canadian Centre for Housing Rights (CCHR) is Canada’s leading organization working to advance the right to housing.
