At the Northwestern Ontario Women’s Centre, we believe survivors of sexual violence.
May is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and we are continuing our Sexual Violence Education series this spring with two upcoming workshops. Sessions are open to self-identified women and girls (ages 18+) and will take place 6:30-8 pm at the Northwestern Ontario Women’s Centre (278 Bay St, Suite #201).

Join us on Thursday, May 14th for our upcoming sexual violence education session: “Supporting Survivors: peer-to-peer support models” , facilitated by Sierra Gernat, Case Coordinator at the Office of Human Rights and Equity at Lakehead University. This is an in-person educational workshop on identifying and unpacking gender-based violence, along with looking at peer-to-peer support models to support survivors.
We hope this workshop will leave attendees feeling both informed and empowered with practical skills and knowledge to support loved ones or fellow community members who have experienced gender-based violence.
Attendance at all sessions is not required. Light refreshments provided. To register, please contact Caro Whipp at [email protected] or (807) 935-8042.
Accessibility: Please note that there is a lip to the front entrance of the building followed by a set of stairs to the second floor. There are no automatic door openers. Washrooms are private and all-gender. Bus tickets are available by request. Please reach out to the email below for any questions or to make an accessibility request.
