Urban Indigenous people often experience racism and discrimination as part of everyday life. This can happen at work, in housing, or when accessing services. Many urban Indigenous people also do not have access to information about their legal rights and the options available to them.
The IHRP helps urban Indigenous community members in Ottawa and Thunder Bay:
- understand their rights,
- explore their options, and
- access culturally grounded support and legal advice.
