Parents, caregivers, and support people will learn about online exploitation and risk factors that youth face in Thunder Bay.

Tuesday, May 16th from 6:30 – 9pm at the Italian Cultural Centre

The H.E.A.L. project provides information and resources to parents and caregivers of children and youth who are at risk, currently entrenched in, or have recently exited exploitive or human trafficking situations. Local organizations that provide support services will be attendance. This in-person event will be followed by 3 follow-up virtual sessions to be released the week of May 15-20, 2023.

Parents, caregivers, and support people can:

  • Learn strategies to reduce risk or assist in reintegration back to mainstream life
  • Learn how to support children who have been exploited and get connected with local organizations
  • Gain an understanding of how human trafficking targets and recruits children and youth
