Panel HOS launch

Surrounded by the powerful portrait imagery of Ojibway artist Arthur Shilling at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, Northwestern Ontario Women’s Centre invited project partners, media and the public to join us in the official launch and announcement of Ontario Arts Council funding for our 2-year project. We will collaborate with Community Story Strategies, local artists, survivors of sexual assault and harassment, Thunder Bay Art Gallery, and Thunder Bay Police to deliver a digital story-telling and community arts-based project addressing sexual violence against women.

Gwen O’Reilly spoke on behalf of Northwestern Ontario Women’s Centre. Sharon Godwin spoke on behalf of Thunder Bay Art Gallery, while Chris Adams represented Thunder Bay Police. Crystal DePeuter presented remarks from Minister of Status of Women, the Honouable Patty Hajdu, and Vicki Plouffe spoke for the Minister of Northern Development and Mines, Honourable Michael Gravelle.

Northwestern Ontario Women’s Centre gratefully acknowledges the support of the Ontario Arts Council and our partners.
